Here at Apprenticeship Careers Australia, we are seeking a motivated individual to undertake an Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering with a company in Yass.

The Role:

As an Apprentice Engineer, you will assist in the maintenance, servicing, and repair on a range of farm machinery. You will gain knowledge and hands-on experience in the industry, while working towards completing your Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade).This role is open to both first-year apprentices, as well as those who have already started their Apprenticeship.

Duties include:

  • Working with metal and hydraulics.
  • Installing, servicing, repairing, and general maintenance on machinery.
  • Packing away tools and machinery as required.
  • Travelling with supervisor to different job sites to assist in repairing or dropping off equipment.
  • Assist supervisor with day to day tasks in the workshop and on site.
  • Learning and understanding the importance of Work Health and Safety within the workspace.
  • Learning how to maintain workshop equipment.
  • Working with metal and hydraulics.
  • Cleaning shed alongside supervisor.
  • Following supervisor instructions.

Potential Candidates:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Drivers license required 
  • White card required, or willing to obtain
  • Physically fit
  • Friendly, easy to talk to and polite?  
  • Someone with a strong work ethic?  
  • Someone who works safely and is able to follow instructions and procedures?  
  • Willing to work weekends if required
  • Preferably good Mathematic skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Committed to working and study to complete a 4-year Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) MEM30219
